St Thomas Parish
Late notice, St Thomas Parish has indoor and outdoor vending spots available this weekend for only $20.
Also, I will be renting a vending spot myself outside. I will be selling some K9 food, K9 bowls, mats and some home goods. Please stop by if you are a business owner and would like to be featured on Brandywinemd.com LLC and associated Facebook page, Brandywine MDcom. I will be set up next to a white Toyota Tundra and would love to connect with you all and say hello.

ST. Thomas Church History
In August 1814, British troops marched through Prince George’s County, Maryland, toward Washington, D.C., passing near St. Thomas’ Church in Croom (built 1742–1745), which was known locally as “Page’s Chapel” because landowner Daniel Page was contracted to build it. www.stthomascroom.org +2
While the British did raid nearby areas like Chaptico and Upper Marlboro during their campaign, specific records do not indicate that General William Winder was arrested there. InstagramKey 1814 Events Involving Winder and Beanes:General William Winder: He was not arrested in 1814, but rather placed in command of the defenses of Washington and Baltimore by President Madison. He was severely criticized for his role in the disastrous American loss at the Battle of Bladensburg on August 24, 1814, and subsequently faced a court-martial, but he was acquitted of all blame.Dr. William Beanes: He was arrested by British troops in August 1814 and held as a prisoner of war on HMS Brig Thetis. His detention in the Chesapeake resulted in Francis Scott Key being sent to secure his release, which famously led to the writing of “The Star-Spangled Banner” during the bombardment of Fort McHenry.
