Reorganization Details (Starting 2027-28)
Baden Elementary School: This facility will close permanently.Brandywine Area Academy (3-8): A brand new facility will open on the site of the current Gwynn Park Middle School. It will serve all students in grades 3 through 5 from the current Baden and Brandywine Elementary boundaries, as well as grades 6 through 8 from the Gwynn Park Middle boundary.
Brandywine Elementary School: This site will be converted into an Early Learning Campus. It will serve all students in grades PreK through 2 who reside in the current Baden and Brandywine attendance areas.
Gwynn Park Middle School: The current building will close and be demolished to make way for the new academy. The Baden Branch Library is expected to remain a vital part of the community and is not slated for closure alongside the school.
Recent Investment: The library recently underwent a major renovation and held a grand reopening on February 6, 2024.
Expanded Facilities: The newly renovated space at 13601 Baden Westwood Road is nearly double its original size, featuring new meeting rooms, a cafe, and updated technology.
Community Presence: Local community groups have actively advocated for the library’s future, ensuring it continues to serve as a hub even as the adjacent school’s status changes.
