BNKCA is the civic organization that includes the area from Rt. 301 to North Keys Rd. and beyond (all are welcome). This week we’ll be meeting at the Brandywine Volunteer Fire Department on Brandywine Rd. since schools are closed.
Then the following Wed., there will be a meeting at the middle school for everyone in south county for SAARC, which is the Southern Area Aquatic and Regional Complex that’s being planned for the intersection of Missouri Ave. and Rt. 301.

Preliminary Conceptual Design & Program Plan PresentationPlease join us for a discussion about the proposed Southern Area Aquatic & Recreation Complex. This facility will offer indoor aquatics, fitness and flexible programmable space. It is planned to be located on the Brandywine Area Park Property, just north of the intersection of Missouri Avenue and Brandywine Road.
The Southern Area Aquatic & Recreation Complex will be the County’s first multigenerational facility envisioned in the Formula 2040 Functional Master Plan for Parks, Recreation and Open Space. Multigenerational facilities can provide an array of programs simultaneously to serve the recreational and leisure needs and interests of an entire family – not just one age group.
Staff from The Maryland-National Capital Park and Planning Commission, Department Parks and Recreation will provide an overview of the planning process, review a schedule for completion, give you an opportunity to provide input and respond to your questions at the meeting. |
