Update: June 26, 2026
I received an email from a Ring Representative, Mr. Matthew, and he advised me he has shared my Ring video of the yard fire at my home on their social media platforms, that I believed was started by someone tossing out a lighted cigarette onto my yard. I don’t believe that fire was intentional, but please dispose of cigarette properly if you do smoke. Furthermore, I was able to find out the identify of two of the ladies, Lydia and Sophie, but the identity of the other lady and a gentleman name Kevin, I still don’t know their identity, but Ring might have discovered their identity, I am waiting on clarification. Furthermore, I was able to speak to Lydia, to thank her and her daughter for their wonderful act of bravery and kindness in putting out the fire. May God bless them all, including my neighbor Dave who call me to advise me that front yard was on fire, but it extinguished but passersby and Baden Volunteer Fire Department – VFD was on the scene.
This is a quick video of how the yard looks now, you could not tell that a fire has occurred. Please follow my Facebook page Brandywine MDcom and associated website Brandywinemd.com for more news and interesting stories.

They were riding in this Suburban, and they helped put out a fire on my lawn caused by a disregarded cigarette tossed out of a vehicle.Previous post:Update: If anyone has any new leads, they may also contact, Matthew Deicke, Producer – Ringdeickema@amazon.com(424) 284-8144 — call or text, in addition to contacting myself. I texted with one of the ladies today involved in putting out the fire. Her name is Lydia and her daughter is named Sophia, I thanked her and her daughter for putting out the fire but she would not accept any money. She didn’t know the other ladies name in the Suburban or the gentleman she was with named Kevin. She told me Kevin helped put out the fire with his coat. They are local, I am told if anyone knows them, please have them contact me. I owe Kevin a new coat and the ladies something for their incredible work as well.
Update, I have a lead on two of the ladies who help put out the fire, thanks to Regina Funk who saw the video, and she is related to them. She then was talking to a mutual friend about the fire and somehow Patty Beach, knew that was my home or something and told Regina how to get in contact with me. I am awaiting the ladies to get in contact with me when, they get in town.If anyone knows any of the ladies in the video, please leave me a message, I am still trying to identify the third lady. I would like to thank everyone especially the three wonderful ladies who stopped at my home and put out my front yard that was on fire, while I was out, I had the front hose water cut off from the inside, but they went to the back and used my garage water hose to put the fire out. If anyone knows the women, I would personally like to thank them and one was name Sophia. They even rolled the hoses back up for me. I am so blessed, thank God for incredible people in this area. I could not tell how the fire started, it just rained last night, so the grass was not that dry or tall. My friend Dave and neighbor that I used to work with at Robin Hill Farm and Vineyards called me and told me, that my front yard was on fire, but some good samaritans stopped to put it out. Also, would like to thank Baden Volunteer Fire Department – VFD, for showing up to make sure everything was okay. After speaking with the Baden Fire Department personnel, the Baden Fire Department said they didn’t know how the fire started but didn’t observe anything that stood out that could be suspicious. I did further investigate and went around digging through the soil and there was no smell of an accelerant used, but I did find several cigarettes on the side of the road next to where the fire had been in the yard. I believe someone tossed out a cigarette and it accidentally caught the grass on fire. Even though it rained the night before, there was a lot of thatch on the ground beneath the grass and in the thatch it was surprisingly dry.
Viewing my ring camera, only two vehicles drove by between 11:40 am. and 12 pm., before the fire started. A black sedan and white SUV was observed traveling north on Croom Rd. Please do not toss out lit cigarettes out of vehicles, I believe that was the reason of the fire.Unknown the reason how a fire started in my yard but cigarette butts were observed on the ground on a lite traffic day at the time.
