It is coming up on the tenth year anniversary of my father passing and twenty three years since my mother passed. They are both in a much better place with God, but I wanted to do something in honor of my father’s memory. At the age of around 10 years old my father would wake me up early during the weekends to go the work with him on his side jobs as an electrician. Riding usually somewhere to D.C., he be listening to 89.3, WPFW with The Bama, who real name was Jerry Washington and Da Gator, who real name was Frederick Austin or some other DJ, playing Jazz or the Blues. The show started on the air in 1977 before WPFW aired, it was Ken Beatrice, Sports Call, on WMAL. Once on his side job, I be pulling wire in someones attic down to whatever drop, he be installing a light, or plug, e.g. Later on as I had more experience, I would wire plugs, switches and lights and put on the the plates. I would always clean up the job sights at the end of the day. I learned a lot, but didn’t go in the electric field exactly like home but earned an AAS Degree in Electronic Technology before switching to another totally different job field. In honors of my father I had the idea to run an electrical drop under my driveway, to my yard for one day I might put have a garage built. I wanted to do majority of the work myself but will need a Master Electrician to pull the permit. I ran into an issue getting the conduit under the driveway with a pressure and metal pipe or getting the metal pipe to go straight by pushing it through with a tractor.
