I used to work for the Prince George’s County Board of Elections as a Warehouse Tech, I have read the Maryland State Board of Elections are planning to update their voting ballot machines and related voting equipment and have it ready for the 2028 Elections. Which is great to hear, the old equipment was getting old but the equipment was very durable and pretty reliable. The DS300 Poll Place Scanner and Tabulator, where heavy lifting them in and out of the storage lockers, but when the poll workers ask you paper or electronic for your option for ballots to vote, I would choose paper ballot. The DS300, paper ballot is much faster to fill out, than using the ballot marking device (BMD) which it fills out the ballot electronically but it takes a much longer time and usually longer lines to use them.
