Kaiser Permanente Closes Marlow Heights While Waldorf Medical Center Remains Delayed:
Current timeline history December 2020: Kaiser announced plans for a new Waldorf medical center at 4149 Crain Highway, Waldorf, on a 23-acre site. The original plan called for a roughly 100,000-square-foot facility with primary care, specialty care, imaging, lab, pharmacy, and advanced urgent care. The first phase was originally targeted for early 2025.
2023: Kaiser presented an updated expectation of a 2026 opening, but construction progress did not occur as originally anticipated.
2026: Kaiser has said there is no confirmed construction/opening timeline yet.
A Kaiser Permanente Rep. stated the Marlow Heights locations is closing because the facility needs extensive repairs and the staff can be relocated to Camp Springs and other nearby Kaiser Permanente facility locations and still continue to provide services to the local community.
