While it may not appear on the county’s primary emergency lists, the Baden Community Center (located at 13601 Baden-Westwood Rd, Brandywine) serves as an official short-term, “quick-stop” cooling center during heat emergencies. Here is what you need to know about using this location: Operating Hours: The center operates on a shorter schedule: Monday–Thursday from 2:00 PM to 9:00 PM, Friday from 2:00 PM to 10:00 PM (for Teens after 7:00 PM), and Saturday from 9:00 AM to 2:00 PM. It is closed on Sunday.
Facilities: It is fully air-conditioned and provides a safe, comfortable indoor space to cool down, drink water, or use the restroom.
