Does anyone knows if the old Nottingham Corner Store at Nottingham Rd.& Croom Rd. is opening back up or the owners contact info.? Several people are inquiring, it used to be called, Galicia Licor Restaurant and before that, County Style Latin Foods. I spoke to the owner in the past, Paul Windsor Jr., unknown if he still owns property.
There is a new sign called, M Mama Cole’s Cafe – 12300 Croom Rd. and there was a restaurant in D.C. with the same name but the owner passed away.Evangeline “Mama Cole” Cole-Thompson was a beloved Washington D.C. soul food chef and owner of the popular Cole’s Cafe in Anacostia, known for her made-from-scratch cooking and community support. Before her death in 2011, she was celebrated as a “soul food queen” in D.C., often recognized for her famous banana pudding.
